Fronted by Nigerian-British vocalist Sade Adu, the band became one of the most distinctive sounds in global music.

Before stepping into the spotlight, Sade studied fashion design at Saint Martin’s School of Art in London and worked as a model. That visual sensitivity later translated into her minimalist aesthetic — elegant, restrained, and effortlessly powerful.

“Smooth Operator” started as a intermission song, while Sade was backing vocalist for the Pride.

People use to admire hers minimalistic dance moves, but it was caused by terror.  “I feel like even if I just shuffle my feet I’ll look ridiculous.”, claims Sade.

When the bands producer Robin Millar went blind, Sade took role of sole producer for the third album “Stronger Then Pride”.
